The Access to Nutrition Foundation (ATNF) is an international not-for-profit organization dedicated to addressing global nutrition challenges worldwide. The primary objective of ATNF is to publish, on a regular basis, a set of Indexes that assess and rate food and beverage manufacturers’ nutrition policies, practices, and performance.
By regularly scoring and ranking companies, ATNF aims to encourage them to:
- Increase consumers’ access to nutritious and affordable foods and beverages by improving product formulation, and addressing pricing and distribution; and
- Responsibly exercise their influence on consumer choice and behavior through responsible marketing, labeling, lobbying and engagement, and promoting healthy diets and active lifestyles.
The Indexes provide companies with a way to benchmark their own performance and identify areas for improvement. Moreover, they provide comprehensive, objective, credible and comparable information to multiple stakeholders, thereby contributing to the public discourse on responsible nutrition practices by the private sector.
